How to Read a Multivitamin Label: Estrezym’s 12 Nutrients, Explained

A multivitamin label can look impressive simply because it contains many lines. But the number of ingredients is not the same as the quality of the reasoning behind them. To understand a daily multivitamin, you need to know what each nutrient does, what the units mean and—just as importantly—what a vitamin is not.

Estrezym currently lists 12 nutrients: Vitamin C 500 mg; Vitamin B1 15 mg; Vitamin B2 10 mg; Vitamin B3 100 mg; Vitamin B5 20 mg; Vitamin B6 5 mg; Biotin B7 45 mcg; Vitamin B12 12 mcg; Folic Acid 680 mcg; Vitamin E 30 mg; Zinc 23.9 mg; and Copper 3 mg. The suggested use is one tablet daily, preferably after breakfast.

Start with the units: mg and mcg are not the same

One milligram (mg) equals 1,000 micrograms (mcg). That means a line showing 680 mcg is not a “bigger dose” than a line showing 15 mg just because 680 is a larger number on the page. Convert the units before comparing quantities.

This matters particularly with B12, biotin and folic acid, which are commonly measured in micrograms. The body’s requirements also differ dramatically by nutrient, so milligrams should never be used as a universal score of importance.

The right question is not “Which number is biggest?” It is “What is the nutrient, what form is used, and how does the listed amount compare with established intake references?”

Vitamin C 500 mg and Vitamin E 30 mg

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin involved in collagen synthesis, antioxidant functions and normal immune function. Estrezym lists 500 mg. That supports the formula’s daily-wellness positioning, but it should not be translated into “prevents infection” or “stops colds.” Nutritional adequacy and disease prevention are different claims.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant nutrient. Estrezym lists 30 mg. Because fat-soluble vitamins behave differently from water-soluble vitamins, “the body just urinates out the extra” is not a safe blanket statement for all vitamins.

The B-vitamin group

Estrezym includes seven B-vitamin entries: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B12 and folic acid/B9—eight lines if folate is counted separately in the family. Their roles overlap in metabolism, but they are not interchangeable.

  • B1 (thiamin) 15 mg: helps enzymes involved in energy metabolism and normal cell function.
  • B2 (riboflavin) 10 mg: contributes to energy production and redox reactions.
  • B3 (niacin) 100 mg: is used to form NAD and NADP, coenzymes central to hundreds of metabolic reactions.
  • B5 (pantothenic acid) 20 mg: is part of coenzyme A and therefore linked to metabolism of fats, carbohydrates and proteins.
  • B6 5 mg: participates in more than 100 enzyme reactions, many related to amino-acid metabolism.
  • Biotin B7 45 mcg: functions as a cofactor for carboxylase enzymes involved in macronutrient metabolism.
  • B12 12 mcg: contributes to red-blood-cell formation, neurological function and DNA synthesis.
  • Folic Acid 680 mcg: supports one-carbon metabolism and cell division.

These roles explain why B vitamins are often called “energy vitamins,” but they do not make Estrezym a stimulant. They help the body run metabolic pathways; they do not provide caffeine-like stimulation in a person who is already nutritionally adequate.

Zinc 23.9 mg and Copper 3 mg

Zinc is involved in hundreds of enzyme functions, immune function, protein and DNA synthesis, wound healing and cell signaling. Estrezym lists 23.9 mg.

Copper is a cofactor for enzymes involved in energy production, iron metabolism, connective tissue and neurotransmitter synthesis. Estrezym lists 3 mg.

These minerals deserve to be read together because high zinc exposure can influence copper status over time. That does not mean this specific formula creates a problem; it means a consumer should count total intake across products instead of viewing every supplement as an isolated island.

Why percentages and reference values matter

Raw milligrams tell only part of the story. Nutrients have different recommended intakes and upper limits. For example, 10 mg of one nutrient may be close to a reference intake while 10 mg of another may be many times higher.

This becomes important when stacking products. A multivitamin plus a B-complex plus an “immunity” formula can duplicate vitamin C, B vitamins and zinc. Even if every individual product looks reasonable, the total may be unnecessarily high.

Use the label as an accounting document: list what the product contributes, then add the same nutrients from other supplements before deciding whether the stack makes sense.

What a multivitamin can—and cannot—do

A multivitamin can help provide nutrients in a standardized, convenient format. It can be particularly useful when diet quality or intake is inconsistent. But it is not a replacement for food, because foods provide protein, essential fats, fibre and thousands of other compounds that a 12-line tablet does not recreate.

It also does not diagnose deficiency. Persistent fatigue, hair loss, neurological symptoms or other health concerns should not be self-diagnosed from a supplement ad. When symptoms are significant, proper assessment matters.

How Estrezym fits a daily routine

The current suggested use—one tablet daily, preferably after breakfast—creates a simple adherence cue. Pair the tablet with a meal you already eat consistently, keep the rest of the supplement stack visible on one list, and review overlap before adding new products.
